The Four Seasons String Quartet is a professional ensemble in Scottsdale, Arizona. Dr. Carolyn Broe founded this excellent string quartet in 1991 in order to perform live chamber music concerts in the Valley. She is both the violist and the director. Since then the Four Seasons String Quartet has performed at the ASU Kerr Cultural Center, Arizona State University, the Fleischer Museum, the Arizona Center, the Scottsdale Center for the Arts, the Arizona Science Museum, Wrigley Mansion, the Wright House, Ashley Manor, Nardini Manor and at almost every resort in the Valley. We give approximately 50 concerts per year. The Four Seasons String Quartet has given concerts as far away as Sedona and Tucson, and performed a residency in Kingman, Arizona. We were given a wonderful review in the book “Down the Isle in Phoenix” by Marsha Starr.
The Four Seasons String Quartet was nominated in two Grammy categories for 2000 for the “Overture to the Lonely Heart” that we recorded for Miles from Nowhere for “Best Small Ensemble” and “Best New Composition”. We gave the world premiere performance of Louise Kerr’s “String Quartet in A Major” in 2001, which is now available on CD. We have taught master classes for the Arizona Music Festival to aspiring string students. The Four Seasons String Quartet was recently recorded on the album “Vivaldi a Due Voci” with Isola Jones, former mezzo soprano with the Metropolitan Opera and Eileen Mager soprano. The Four Seasons String Quartet “Wedding Album” was re-released in 2007.
